i think iron sights are better for showing off like that bob. just seems to me like if you know your irons they are more accurate than a scope is for some reason. least that has always been my case

I always loved my old man's Remington Nylon 66 that he bought back in the 70s. It's mine now but doesn't get shot much. I used to be able to shoot the top of a dandelion off and send the fuzzies every which direction. When you live out in the sticks in an open field, you find ways to stay entertained haha

[QUOTE=fmacsin1;11235]Yeah, I know what you mean, Dark, I used to pick my mom's tomatoes and use them as targets when she started to notice that she was missing lots of them at one time until she caught me picking them early one morning after my other chores. Needless to say, tomatoes were off-limits after that (and so was my .22 rifle for awhile). When I got my gun back, I started on pumpkins, then got my dad p----d at me. That's when he decided I needed a target area of me own.

My most accurate .22 is an old Remington 513-T that was a military issue.( Probably ROTC school)
I put a Unertyl scope on it and it would shoot one hole groups at 50 yards with proper ammo. It seems sensitive to ammo brands. Supprisingly it shoots better with Winchester HPs than with expensive target ammo. I bought a case so that the lots would be the same I took Unertyl off and now use the orginal micrometer sights |

Great little gun Charlie, I cleaned one up for a chap a few weeks back. This was the first time I had a play with one. They have a really sweet action and are dead easy to strip and clean.
If you don't mind me asking what sort of money do they go for in the UK, out here in NZ they go for around $300-400 - the exchange rate is around 2.3 to 1 Cheers Enfield

I would say the prices are about the same £125( $271 NZD) - £200 ($434 NZD) I have seen the odd one or two dealers asking up to £275 ($597NZD), but that is far to much. All Martini action guns are shooting( no pun intended) up in price at the moment. I paid £60 or about $130 NZD.

Cheers Charlie
It seems that due to the net etc. prices are going global and costing similar around the world. Looks like you got a bargain - right place at the right time Enfield
