I like a shot or three of Maker's Mark on occasion. I usually just stick to Coors light, original Coors, or a nice Sam Adams. I do like martinis though.

A rather "dry" remark there, Flannel. :innocent:

I never could get to like martinis for some reason, gin or vodka, though I've known many who did. Like everything else, different strokes for different folks.

I drink a fine Irish Rye or Celtic Crossing liqueur. If all the bar carries is Ballantine's, I will have a Dublin Mule (look up the recipe for a Moscow Mule and substitute the Ballantine's.)

Cognac is, indeed, marvelous, at the proper time.

Crown Royal that has been sitting in the freezer overnight. Get it thick like syrup.

Take a 20 oz foam cup fill with ice pour crown generously and add Coke.

Forty creek is also good but I can only find it in Tx.

Pops, you're a good judge of handsome rifles, fine whiskey, and wild, wild women. Lord knows there aren't many of us left!

Like you, I will usually opt for a good Irish whiskey, most commonly Jameson straight up, assuming it's available. Unfortunately, American bars usually don't stock many varieties of Irish, only the more discerning establishments.

Pops, Ballantine's is a decent (about medium grade) scotch, not an Irish. I didn't know you liked scotch as well as Irish. I also enjoy a good scotch on the rocks upon occasion, especially the well aged single malts when I can find them.

Heard about this the other day:

Wish I could find it around here.

Just think of the possibilities!

I'm sure you folks have heard of the new cocktails that are becoming popular . . .

There's the "Cleopatra," for example. Have a couple of those and you "Caesar."

And then there's the "card table." Too many of those and your legs fold up under you.

Finally, there's the "black Muslim." A couple of those and the IRS charges you a fat penalty.
